Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics 1995 -
Centenary College of Louisiana
Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics 2000 -
University of Texas at Dallas
My teaching career began in the summer of 1995, when I came to Dallas to work for Project SEED. Teaching advanced mathematics to inner-city students using Socratic discovery molded me into the educator I am today! :) After my 3 years there, I taught math (Geometry, Algebra 2, and Precalculus) at Highland Park High School for 5 years. I loved the work and my colleagues, but the commute proved too much once I had kids of my own. So in the fall of 2003, I started teaching part-time for Collin College. I also started working as an independent contractor for Region X Education Service Center. I stayed pretty busy those 10 years, as I also tutored and did outside consulting for some charter schools. Then, in 2013, I came to Lovejoy to GT Geometry where I am (obviously) still today and loving my students and the community as a whole! :)
